Sea Fun Saint-Tropez

Water skiing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing and towed buoys on a private MasterCraft in the gulf. Qualified instructor, May to September.

At 9 Quai du Bailli de Suffren, before the port's café terraces have properly woken up, Julien is already running the engine on the MasterCraft X25. The onboard sound system clicks on. The day begins on the water.

Sea Fun keeps it simple and serious: water skiing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing and towed buoys across the gulf, with a state-qualified instructor and a private boat for your group. Eight people maximum, fuel included. No factory-line sessions where you count your minutes in the water, either: glide time is guaranteed, prep time doesn't come off your slot.

Wakesurf deserves a mention on its own. Riding the boat's wake without a rope, with the gulf opening up from Pampelonne all the way to Sainte-Maxime, converts people faster than you'd expect. For those less inclined to stand on a plank at speed, the towed buoy delivers plenty of screaming and holding on, with a view that softens any bruised dignity.

Toward the end of the day, the sunset tour shifts the register entirely: slower, quieter, the light going gold over the Côte d'Azur from out on the open water. It's a good way to close out a Tropezian afternoon.

Open from May to September, booking by phone. Hours run from 7am to 9pm, which gives you room to manoeuvre.
