The winds, briefly
The mistral comes down the Rhône corridor in gusts. Clear sky, choppy sea. Above 40 knots, it gets tiresome. Below, it is a gift.
The ponant, a humid western wind, brings Mediterranean showers. Rarely mean, but it drops fast.
Which season to choose?
- April–May: vines in bloom, perfect temperature, few people.
- June: the sea starts to warm, the season kicks off.
- July–August: hot, peak crowds, full-throttle nightlife.
- September: probably the best month, the water still warm, crowd gone.
- October: the Voiles, the new rosé, the village comes back to life.
