The sky

An eye on the bay,
seven days ahead.

The mistral often sweeps the peninsula. The ponant brings the clouds. Keep an eye here, we refresh every thirty minutes, and we tell you when it is time to pull out the sailboat (or stash the parasols).

The winds, briefly

The mistral comes down the Rhône corridor in gusts. Clear sky, choppy sea. Above 40 knots, it gets tiresome. Below, it is a gift.

The ponant, a humid western wind, brings Mediterranean showers. Rarely mean, but it drops fast.

Which season to choose?

  • April–May: vines in bloom, perfect temperature, few people.
  • June: the sea starts to warm, the season kicks off.
  • July–August: hot, peak crowds, full-throttle nightlife.
  • September: probably the best month, the water still warm, crowd gone.
  • October: the Voiles, the new rosé, the village comes back to life.
