Ralf Schumacher marries his partner in the village, cameras rolling

Ralf Schumacher, former Formula 1 driver, is marrying his partner Étienne in Saint-Tropez this summer. A German broadcaster is filming it all for a documentary. The village, once again, becomes a televised stage.

Ralf Schumacher, six F1 wins, 180 Grands Prix behind him, is getting married in the village this summer. To Étienne, his partner of two years. A German broadcaster, RTL, is filming the whole thing. Cameras, crews, the full documentary treatment. Because of course.

Michael's brother came out in July 2024. Since then, the couple has been open, posting on Instagram, living their story publicly. They chose Saint-Tropez to tie the knot. Not exactly low-key as destinations go. But it fits: Ralf knows the peninsula well, spends summers here regularly, far from the paddock noise.

The documentary will be called Ralf und Étienne – Gemeinsam in ein neues Leben. In English, "Ralf and Étienne: together into a new life." Set to air this summer on RTL+. A wedding filmed, dissected, narrated. You can picture the wide shots over the harbour, the tearful close-ups, the emotional soundtrack. The village as backdrop, once more.

It's touching, personal, also highly produced. Ralf Schumacher hasn't raced since 2007, but he's still a name. His wedding here won't slip by unnoticed. Between fans, curious onlookers, camera crews, the narrow streets will be buzzing.

Saint-Tropez as life stage, Saint-Tropez as TV set. Again. Always.
